Oops I can't post the picture....the P bass that I am looking at has Black Neck Inlays....

My guess.
Fender Classic series 70's Precision bass.
Changed Guard, and upgraded with a bridge cover.
The colour on the body looks (on this photos) Honey Blonde.
It might be a 50's classic precision body.

Are those actually inlays on the neck? What are they made of? I have never held one if these and from a distance they've always just looked like paint.

I owned a sunburst one. It was an amazing bass. The inlays I think are plastic as is the binding, but they are done very well. All except the last couple of years of these are MIJ. They came in sunburst and vintage white, both with black pick guards.
