FDP Forum / Fender Amps: 1985 - Current / Fender Twin Amp (pro tube series) weak reverb

Dear members!

My Twin Amp made in 2002, has all 12 tubes replaced with new ones Groove Tubes. The reverb tank it's new, also. However, the amp with reverb at 10 seems to have a shorter reverb compared with a Twin Reverb at 5! Is that normal?

I want to use massive reverb and the twin amp could not get it. is there something wrong with my amp, or have I choosed wrong the amp to buy?

Thanks in advance!
Regards.

The reverb circuit is standard for Fenders. Even the reverb tank is the same type (long tank, long decay) as a Twin Reverb. The only difference is the switching, which in the Pro Tube, uses FET's and includes two 1.5k resistors in series. Those resistances are pretty low and shouldn't attenuate the signal noticeably.

Make sure V7, the reverb tank driver, is a 12AT7.

I am leaning toward something possibly wrong with the amp or tank. But I can't say for sure without the amp to check it out.

It's a 12at7...
Reverb at 10 it's equal to reverb on TR at 4/5.
So strange.

Even a new reverb tank can be defective, as can new tubes...and make sure it is the right replacement for the original.
