I am seriously thinking about buying a Strat with Seymour Duncan SM3 Mini Humbuckers. I love my Gibson SG with stock Mini Humbuckers and I am excited about the different sounds that I can get out of these Strats. I was thinking about saving money and just buying the loaded pickguard and installing it in my MIM Standard Strat but I would miss the traditional Strat sounds too much. A Video link of the Strat is below.

If you go with the loaded pickguard, then conversion back to stock will be a cinch if you miss the Stratty vibe.

I like the clean tones on that video, but don't care for the distortion tones. Thanks for sharing the video.

I sure like that.

As a Standard I assume its Mexico.

That keeps price down a bit and the quality is still good.

But those Seymourized pups are gonna add more $$ to the price.

Regardless, I like it. Both clean and dirty.

The guitar is $845 shipped with fender locking tuners, a Babicz Bridge, set up and gig bag. I added the cost if I picked up a used MIM Strat for $300, added the loaded pickguard, the tuners and bridge and setup. It would be more than $845. I would be crazy not to buy new and let them do it.
