I found a pair of Tele's in a Junque shop with all the Fender hang tags.

Kind of a turquoise/aquamarine color.

Bound body.

Tummy Cut.

Nashville pickup arrangement.

A jack with a plate and not the usual cup.

3-piece (old style) saddles.

Custom Shop markings on the neck plate and headstock.

Black plastic spacer between the neckplate and the body.

They looked and played nice, but the lack of a hefty price tag has got me puzzled.

Any ideas?

The only Fender I've owned with a black plastic spacer behind the neck plate was a mid 80's MIJ.

Just the very idea of finding not one but two Custom Shop guitars in a second-hand store made me suspicious.

Yeah, the CS has never issued a model with that plastic gasket under the neck plate.

Like most of KFay's threads, this smells feeshy.

The only Fender-style guitar I own with a plastic gasket on the neck plate is the Tele parts-o-caster that I built.

Are your prayer beads maple or rosewood?

Sound like parts'o'casters...
A quick scan of Ebay Telecaster custom shop bodies show only 'normal' jack cups, not jack plates.
Even this Nashville Custom Shop version doesn't have a CS neck plate!

The jack plate and the steel 3-piece saddles just scream MIJ.

More of a curiosity than anything.

I wonder if I should tell them?
