So I've been wanting to replace the neck on my 1996 Standard Strat for years (it just doesn't feel or play as well as my American Strats), and I've long had an inkling to put a reverse headstock on it. I finally pulled the trigger the other day and ordered a new right-handed American Special neck off e-Bay, complete with all the hardware. Then I got on Warmoth.com and ordered a custom SSS pickguard with a reverse slant on the bridge pickup.

Since Fender won't offer lefties a Jimi Hendrix Strat (a travesty!) I'm building my own. Can't wait for the new parts to come in.

Sounds like a cool project. If you get the time some photos would be nice (hint, hint).

Tony, that's why I came in here yesterday or the day before and posted 2 or 3 things... trying to wake this place back up!

So there is some interest!

The parts arrived in the mail last week. The new American Special neck is beautiful. I attached the neck and swapped out the old white standard pick guard for the new 3-ply mint green one with the reverse-slanted bridge pickup hole. It looks awesome.

It's currently at a local luthier getting the nut swapped. He's also going to set the neck up properly (I've never replaced a neck before and I want it done right).

I can't wait to play on that new neck. It feels like butter. I will post pictures once I get it back (if you can tell me how I go about doing that).

SinisterStrat13, Reverend Mikey would be the one to know about posting photos.

If if if I ever posted any images, it was years ago. I don't see any clear instructions on to post 'em; I'll do some digging and see if I overlooked something.

When in doubt, try the FAQ.

Copied & pasted from FAQ (note--the CM contribution is $30.00, see FAQ for details):

Q: How do I post a photo on the FDP Forum?
A: You can't unless you're a Contributing Member. As a CM, you can upload photos in the Edit User Profile link. Be sure the files are .gif or .jpg and keep the file sizes small. Large files will not upload.

Edit--If you're registered at a photo/video hosting site, I think that you post a link using
"Your URL." If you get a double "http://" be sure to delete one of them, and be sure to post a title in "URL Title."
