FDP Forum / The 'Pup' Tent / Hot Noiseless with vintage string spacing?

Mar 29th, 2016 05:47 AM   Edit   Profile

HI guys, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a set of the late BT's Hot Noiseless pups. Thing is, the Strat I'm going to use has a Floyd, so vintage 2 7/32" string spacing. Have any of you vintage-spaced guys ever hit problems with the narrow magnets on the HNs?

Man, once upon a time a question like this would have had ten replies in the first ten minutes. These days it's tumbleweed blowing through.

Sorry I took so long to respond. I just remembered that my "California Series Strat" has a vintage bridge and I had installed a set of "Hot Noiseless" pups on it.

Depends on how your pick-guard pickup slots are cut.

Mine line-up fine, the poles for the high E string are right on the edge of the pole, but sounds fine, all the other strings are good over the poles.

Hope this helps!
