If you have one, which side of the strap is suede? Might sound like a stupid question but the description says the suede is on the underside and in the picture it looks like it's on the outside. Usually they put suede on the outside of a strap to give it a different look rather than smooth leather. Just wondering if the description is wrong.

The brown side is top grain (smooth) and the white side is the suede. That's what it says in the description.

Thanks peegoo, I read that, just that the picture looks like it's the opposite. I'm looking for one with the suede on the outside.

Many players like a strap with a sueded or rough underside, as it keeps the strap from sliding on the shoulder if the guitar is at all neck-heavy.

I never thought about that, just figured the suede was more for looks than function. Neck weight isn't an issue with this Tele, it weighs 7.7lbs and seems fairly balanced. Not like my Les Paul Custom which is butt heavy. If you play sitting down the body wants to tip backwards and brakes your leg at 10 lbs. I use a 3.5" padded strap for that beast.

My new (used) Tele is a pinch under 7 lbs. As much as my injured shoulder loves it, I immediately noticed some neck dive while standing. I bought a 3.5 inch wide Levy leather strap that has a rougher suede underside that has helped immensely with the neck dive.

Suede really helps with neck-heavy guitars. I use Italia 4" wide straps with suede on the underside on SGs and Firebirds, and none of them neck dive.

I'm using a 3 1/2" swede strap with my double neck. Talk about neck dive!

Sure does the trick.
