When I was a kid I saw these and thought they were pretty lame. As a grown man I am liking them! Do I need testosterone replacement? I am worried that if I continue at this rate I may be buying an Antigua guitar down the road! Any one else like paisley Teles or are these reserved for hippies and Brad Paisley fans?

James Burton tells a great story about this model Telecaster.

He had received one of the first ones from Fender and loved the tone and playability, but was afraid to take it onstage. He was playing in Elvis' band at the time, and didn't want to upstage The King because it was a pretty flashy-looking guitar for the time.

But he mustered the courage to walk out onstage with it and play a show. Afterwards, Elvis approached him backstage; Burton got nervous...but Presley said he loved the look!

Good enough for Burton and Elvis--good enough for us mere mortals :o)

I've wanted for years.

I'd even take one of the blue flower models.
(8^O)

Still couldn't do Antigua, though.

Antigua would be a little easier to take if they hadn't bursted the dang pickguards too.

That looks ridiculous.

Ibanez does the same thing on some of their upper-end hollowbody models. It looks

goofy as heck.

I could live with the Ibanez pickguard but the 'pair of forceps' on the tailpiece is a turnoff.

mirrorboy, that is downright funny!

Now I'll never see another Eye-banez tailpiece the way I used to!

Cool, built in roach clip! My view of these has forever changed as well.

I have always liked the Paisley Tele, Blue floral too. I bought one of the former and ended up giving it to my former step daughter during the divorce from her mother.

What I really want is a shell pink Strat. A lacquer one with some time on it. I love the way that color fades and changes with time.

Yet Another new guitar term coined right here on the FDP: "roach clip tailpiece!"

That double bound Tele would do the trick. Very nice. I have a similar Tele in Surf Green. I'm a sucker for double binding on a Telecaster.

Don't think of it as "pink". Think of it as "fighting salmon".

I could do shell pink but that's as close as I could get. Blonde, butterscotch, and burst Teles are about as far as I'll go on a Telecaster.

BG, that is an AWESOME build and I love the color.

Hammond, yeah, I know. That fiasco reminded me of the amount of work that went into the FDP LE Strats and basses and we had Fender's full cooperation and support on those.
