FDP Forum / Non-Fender Gear Reviews / Picked up a Gibby Melody maker Explorer

I was just about to pickup a ESP tiger stripped George Lynch guitar when i spotted this gibson Melody Maker Explorer. The one Seymour Duncan PU just screams.I kind of wish it had a tone knob but with a hot bridge PU it's made to do one thing and it does it well,Scream. The body is about 2/3 the size of a stock explorer and it fits me nicely. The neck is the usual gibson 24 3/4 scale and it has a solid maple body.Gotta admit sometimes i miss having a couple extra pickups or a single coil in the neck would have been cool but it still sounds good when i want to rip. not bad for $539.00.Again i look for something different and find it.

Install a neck pickup and a tone control.

Easy peasy, and you have a USA-made tone beast for little scratch.
