I am teching two events.
The early one is a "kid's NYE"....ends at 9:00 PM with balloons falling from the ceiling, followed by fireworks outside
Next gig is 10 'till 3 at my house gig.

We got married on New Years Day, so we celebrate on NYE. My wife's ex was a gigging musician and she has bad memories of many a NYE alone at home. Since I've joined a band we've discussed it and she informed me that NYE gigs are right out.

Guess I should've given that wedding date a bit more thought.

Yep. This will be the first NYE gig I've ever done. Should be interesting, 'cuz the last few years I've been asleep by 10:30 on NYE

Yes, and have played every NYE in the 25 years I've been in this band except for 2010 but that's another story.

This might be it though. Tonight will be the fifth year at a great gig but it's a long drive and the weather is always dicey. We've had some nasty trips and we're not getting any younger.

I haven't played a NYE gig since 1981. I don't miss them at all.

I performed with a local symphony on New Years Day plus I provided the sound system for a DJ'd event in a large banquet hall on NYE.

NYE was not exactly a playing gig for me but a-gig-is-a-gig.

Our NYE gig went well. So well, in fact, that another club in town heard about the gig & called us last week to book us for NYE 2016
