Huh? My local big music shop says that those pickups are only available in a set. I only need the neck unit. Can anyone verify that they are sold in sets only?
Thank you.

A quick Google search shows them only in sets.
It happens.

Maybe check eBay or Reverb to see if someone is breaking them up.

Thanks. It seems odd to me that Fender only sells sets, given that a lot of people buying after-market pickups do mix & match. My bridge pickup (which I never use) is Alnico 2, and I have no intention of replacing it or buying a set and throwing one away. I suppose I will have to find an Alnico 5 of another brand.

My 64 pups came as a set. Of course, they came in a 1964 Tele Reissue! ;o)

"My bridge pickup (which I never use)"

Huh? That's blasphemy in Tele land.

Yes, I know. I have no use for the bridge pickup. The neck pickup on a Tele puts out what I call a good example of a 'normal electric guitar sound,' and gets better from there. I don't even use the middle position.

So, who else makes a good Alnico 5 Tele neck pickup?

Check that guy out with the "stratosphere" website. He also sells some on ebay. He ALWAYS breaks stuff up. So very possible he'd find just one pickup from a set for you. His prices are a bit high in my opinion, though.

I would not mind having both, but I have a SD Alnico II Pro in the bridge, and it's hardly benn used, so I really don't need another Tele bridge pickup.

I suppose I could start a collection.

Actually, I've decided to buy a Tele Original Vintage job, Alnico 3. Time waits for no one.
