Just wondering... I was watching the Country Music Awards last night and Fall Out Boy was on there. I spotted Pete Wentz playing his signature bass and Joe Trohman playing his signature Tele. Highly visible on the bass was "Squier" on the headstock and I THINK Trohman was also playing a Squier.

First, I thought it was really cool to see Squiers PROFESSIONALLY used in such a highly visible performance. I am just wondering if Fall Out Boy plays stock instruments or if these are highly modified. I love my Squier stuff and prefer them over a lot of the Fender models.

There are lots of pros that play Squiers. Heck--Stevie Vaughan played Tokai Strats early on.

A good guitar is a good guitar--brand be damned!

Setup makes a huge deal but you play what makes you happy.

I agree! Squier for years was viewed as a "beginner" guitar or "entry level" so to see them on a big awards show seems to legitimize them.

They've always been around if you looked on stages.

Sometimes with replaced or obliterated decals
