Three years ago I bought a Les Paul Deluxe at the end of the year, got a great price on it, and this was before the robotuners and that nonsense. Light weight as it has some chambering, and a nice beefy neck. I have humbuckers, I have p90s, so I wanted something different. The stock Gibson mini humbuckers are perfectly fine, very mellow, but always just a bit too mild for my tastes. So after dithering on it for a couple years I bought a Seymour Duncan "seymourized" mini humbucker. It's perfect, just what I wanted. Still articulate and defined, but also capable of more growl, more cojones. Not P90, not full on humbucker, but something that has its own kind of oompf, while also capable of cleaning up to almost a tele country sound.

I kept the neck stock, as that's fine.

BTW, the LP does have the circuit board connections in the cavity.

Cool, I love mini hums. I have a Seymourized (older one, from the '80s I think) that I keep in the neck slot of my tele. Probably my favorite pup ever. I have a set of gibsons from the '70s that don't sound near as good. Every guitar player that has played or heard my tele has asked about that pup.
