I hear it's kind of a poor mans' D-28. There's a used 90's D1R, US made, on CL here for 700.

All I have is it sounds expensive for a used guitar with a laminated back & sides (I'd look long & hard for a Yairi for a better price), and a link to the specs.

You cannot compare a 90s Martin D1R with a modern one. The 90s are all solid and made in Nazareth. Modern ones are lam b/s made in Mexico. The 90s ones are much better guitars. No comparison.
