FDP Forum / FDP Unplugged - Acoustic Instruments / soundhole pickup and humidification

I've installed an es-go sound hole pickup in my Taylor GS mini. First time I've owned an acoustic guitar with a pickup in it. I've used the green snake for humidification for years.

Will the moisture have a negative effect on the electrical component? I live in Phoenix, AZ so it's pretty dry around here. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Regards,

I would have no issues with a Damp-it in the sound hole and a sound hole pickup. Properly used the humidifier raises the humidity to a "normal" level. These things, the electronics, live just fine in climates with 80-90% humidity so nothing should affect it in a guitar case you are trying to keep at 45-55%. The guitar itself is much more sensitive.

I have humidified my acoustic electrics for years with no electronic problems.

Same here.

And the Taylor pop-in pickup is sealed (moreso than some soundhole pickups), so it's pretty robust.

No worries at all.
