I picked up one of these at one of our local music stores that deals in used instruments.

They wanted $117 for it.

I figured if it had a good neck I could gut the electronics and build it up.

No need to !

Even though its got the cheap small pots and 5 way switch, the pickups are alnico's, and sound awfully good, go figure !

The single coils are clear and well defined and the humbucker's got some really nice punch along with clarity.

The neck profile is a shallow C, and feels great.

Tuners are tight and hold extremely well.

The shop did a steller setup on this guitar, so the only thing I did was slightly level two frets and then do a fret dress and polish.

I *like* the large headstock painted to match the body, and the mirror pickguard looks pretty slick.

It reminds me of John Sykes Les Paul, as far as the black and mirror motif.

A very nice score, I still cant believe something this inexpensive feels, plays and sounds this good !

Nice score! That's certainly a unique look.

I'd be real tempted to replace the silver screws and knobs with black ones.
