I've had the dream twice - a new song idea complete with lyrics. Now if I can just figure out how to capture the idea before it escapes off to dreamland, given that I have the dream again. Has this ever happened with anyone in terms of getting song ideas?

Just ask Paul McCarty, he dreamed "Yesterday." However, the original lyrics were "ham and eggs."

Yep. Happened to me with this song. I dreamt I was in a dark club and two guys on acoustics were playing it. Of course, I over produced it ;-)

I say capture some/all of it. These dream themes are elusive little bastiges.

I've been dreaming of performing on stage again lately. It sounds really good (lol!) and I know I've written the music, but I fail to follow through when I become conscious.

Larry! Damn, mofo, you got skillz! That is a great song/recording!
I've heard it before but still...
I hope you're busy polishing the stone

littleuch - great song....and I am trying to remember bits and pieces, but it totally eludes me. The missus said the next time it happens, just get up and scramble to the music room to try to get some of it down. Maybe it will return....

There are writers (Kenny Loggins is one) who keep a recorder next to the bed so that they can save ideas as soon as they wake up. Some of these "dreams" will fade fast.

Doc,
No radio, no YouTube - just a dream...sadly it did not return but one day I'll capture one of those dream tunes....till then the hack, me, will continue to practice those songs I consciously know.
