I haven't heard them personally. Some of these pups can be very suprising however.

Never tried their Strat pups.

I do have some of their other stuff (P90s, humbuckers, and mini-humbuckers). They are all very well made and they sound great.

Chances are most budget pickups are all from one source including maybe Duncan-Designed series. The ultimate tone really comes from mojo which may or may not happen with these budget pups depending on luck and one's own perception. Boutique makers are able to set themselves apart from these budget pups and fine tune for mojo to happen. At the end of the day, it's money vs. tone.

Arctec OEM pickups....

Why do I keep fixing things that work?

I have heard that Artec alnico pickups are of good quality and comparable to many.
My question is: How and where do you purchase them?
Are they an 'only online' available? It would be nice to compare prices with the Stewmac Parson Street pricing and build quality.
I am currently working on a couple of guitars and would like to try these if their prices are comparable or better. The Parson Street pickups still have my best interest but if these price out cheaper for their sets, then I will try these first.

I would appreciate any help offered, Thank you!

Artec pickups are OEM manufacturers and I have a strange suspicion that they are everywhere labelled with personalized trademarks. Wilkinson pickups are probably from them and perhaps GFS and Parson Street as well. Having said that, I think each company who buys from them have their own quality control guys and the more stringent they are the better the quality. They may also do special runs on their production line for a particular brand with more personalized specs using different magnets and and coil wire gauges.

Best place to find Artec pickups is ebay or other mail order portals selling at around $35 for a set of Strat with alnico polepieces.
