Having a room built for music purposes/recording etc.

what sort of flooring would folks with similar rooms recommend.?

Its completely closed with AC/dehumidifier and no windows.

Builder wasnt too happy with wood or similar as it might expand contract etc...

maybe some sort of wood plastic laminate ?

A lot of studios have wooden floors because it is supposed to improve the sound quality. Mine has a wooden floor because that is how the house was built 50 years ago, but I have rugs down to dampen it a bit. I suspect it is not that important from a sound standpoint especially with rugs. Obviously, a floor that does not amplify footsteps is a good thing. I would be OK with carpeted concrete. Nothing too hard and reflective though. Wood laminate could fit that description....

You can find pics of Motown Studio A on the internet. I think that was originally a garage? The pics I see looks like it's got a hardwood floor.

Then again I think I also remember some of the electric instruments being plugged straight into the console (no amps)?
