I am not a complete

idiot - I have several pieces missing!

My work area is two good sized rooms comprising 800 sq ft. There are 12 incandescent bulbs recessed in the ceiling and on dimmers. The dimmers go bypass at max and run silent.

Are LEDs quiet for studio use and can they be used with dimmers when not recording?

The LEDs are generally quiet (but vary based on who built them) - I go straight up LED Christmas light string if I need to cut something that's coming through the overhead (rare but happens with one guitar), and it's dead silent.

Friend locally had an issue with a couple junker bulbs being electrically noisy in his circuit but his wiring was godawful as well is all I mention it for.

I've been slowly replacing my incandescent bulbs with LED's in my studio. I haven't noticed any noise from them, however I did have one blow out this week. I thought these things were supposed to last for thousands of hours? This one lasted about 3 months.
