FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Jaguars & Jazzmasters / american standard jag bass controls

Mar 16th, 2015 12:00 AM   Edit   Profile

i've got an mij jaguar that i think is pretty great. out of curiousity, i started reading about the am std version. they've changed a couple of things i'm jealous of (p pickup, string-through bridge), but i noticed something that seems bizarre to me: the tone control only works in passive mode. the tone control on mine works in active and passive. any ideas about why the am std is wired this way?
