hi to all. i recently acquired a VM Jazzmaster. While taking the plastic off of the tortoise pick guard, i noticed some bubbling around a couple of the pick guard screws. It appears
That there is another layer of plastic on the pick guard. I've never run into this on any other guitar. Should I take it off or is it actually part of the pick guard finish. Thanks for your help. BJ

I take it this is not some plastic stuck under the pickguards screws?

They may have gotten two layers of the protective plastic on the pickguard material when it was made. I've seen this happen.

Post a clear close-up pic if you can.

Thanks for the input. I couldn't resist the impulse to peel. Fortunately it was a second layer of plastic, thus twice the peeling pleasure.
This is a really nice playing and sounding guitar for little $. BJ
