Has anyone been able to make a comparison of these between the AVRI and the thinskins on either a Jag or a JM ?

I have only played vintage and standard american vintage jags up to about 3 years ago. I traded in everything and just play a thin skin jag now. it was like starting again on the guitar (almost)... the fret height and neck radius were quite a change but I like it all the same. the guitar sustains more than the originals and av 62's i have played. it might have something to do with the weight of the wood as well... it's a good things all together.

My Jazzmaster is a Thinskin with the 9.5" radius and larger frets, vs. the AVRI which has the vintage-style 7.25" radius and smaller frets.

I own other Fenders with the vintage specs, and while I can feel the difference, I don't have a problem jumping back and forth between the various profiles and fret sizes.

Love the feel of my Thinskin JM. I've got it strung with .11 flatwounds. These are heavier than any strings on my other electric guitars, but the JM still plays like a dream - very little "extra" effort.
