There's an excellent article/interview in one of the newer issues of Vintage Guitar in which Brian explains all the work he did on his '59 6120 to make it playable and suitable for rockabilly.
By contrast, Setzer says that the new Gretsch 6120s are good to go right off the rack.
I sure as heck wouldn't want an original '59.

The modern 6120 1959LTV is the best estimate of the old '59s.
I wouldn't pass on one of these if the price is right.

Virtually all of the originals start to disassemble themselves. If you have one that has not needed a neck reset--it will need one eventually.

I recently bought a new Gretsch 6120SSLVO Brian Setzer sig and love it! Mine is the lacquer version and it sounds as good as it looks.
