I've been writing lots of lyrics lately. For some reason I seem to have found a lot to say. That's very strange for me. It's always been difficult for me to write, what I consider, COMPETENT lyrics. Once I get enough ideas to put something together I can usually craft it into something useable but, I have always been, primarily, a music guy. Being a wordsmith has never been one of my strengths. That being said, here's some lyrics that I think work. I just haven't written any music for them yet. I have a few of these in my archives. Something to use for future projects.
The Color Of Love
Verse
Blue is the color of moonlight
Blue is the ocean at noon
Blue as I feel after midnight
Blue as the sky in mid June
Verse
Green is the color of leaves
Green is the lust of money
Green is the envy of seeds
Green as an old copper penny
Chorus
Shadows of sorrow and shades of delight
Reflecting my feelings all through the night
As sunlight appears shining down from above
I cannot find the color of love
Verse
Red is the color of anger
Red is what runs through my veins
Red wears a warning of danger
Red is a feeling of pain
Bridge
What can I learn from the blue in your eyes
Is there love, is there hate, is there truth, or just lies
Maybe there's only reflections of me
And the wonder of life is all that I see
Chorus
Shadows of sorrow and shades of delight
Reflecting my feelings all through the night
As sunlight appears shining down from above
I still cannot find the color of love
Verse
Black is the color of silence
Black sees the absence of light
Black resounds loudly with violence
Black brings my soul to the fight
Chorus
Shadows of sorrow and shades of delight
Reflecting my feelings all through the night
As sunlight appears shining down from above
I'll search till I find the color of love

Good idea to indicate what you consider to be your verse, bridge and chorus.
Almost looks like you're starting off with the chorus there.
I'm won't be critiquing

It's a crime
I tried everything that I could
to make it work out good
Everything that I knew
to make it back up to you
chorus
I've laid it on the line, the whole world to see
Its a crime ya,ya, what you've done to me
The dream that we once knew
The dream of me and you
The dream that we once had
has somehow turned bad
chorus
I've laid it on the line the whole world to
see
Its a crime oh ya how you've treated me
Now everybody knew, just what you were up to
Everyone could see, everyone but me
Chorus
You laid it on the line the whole world to see
it's a crime oh ya, how you treated me

West Bound
Left my home in Georgia , Left on a westbound train
Ended up in Texas, the night of a driving rain
Traveled on north to Denver, worked on the Santa Fe line
When a westbound train came across the plain I left that place behind
Chorus
You know I am a drifter, yes am a travelin' man
I've been North and south, east and west and back to the south again
2nd verse
Now I caught that train the other day
don't care much where I go
I met a friend along the way, his name was Box car Joe
We made some Hobo tea, and played some cards
and sang a song or two
We'll be a thousand miles away from here before this ride is through
chorus-repeat 1st
3rd verse
Now the city life is not for me,I get lost downtown
But the country life's been hard on me I've worked my share of ground
I've worked in Lumber camps and hardware stores
and drove big rigs around
When I hear that lonesome whistle blow, time to leave that town
Chorus
You know I am a rambler yes I'm a travelin' man,
North and South East and West and back to the South again
Yes I am a drifter, everywhere is were I've been, But I'll come back home someday and find my lost old friend
