My latest track. I just finished the mix today. Leave it to me to depress everyone. :o) I gotta take what comes to me. I wrote the lyrics and melody for this right after my old dog died and I wasn't at my happiest. It took me a year to get around to the music part of it. It's not JUST about my dog but, that was the inspiration.

I wrote this one on piano because I've been getting bored with what comes out when I write on guitar. It took me awhile to get the piano done because I haven't played serious piano in decades. I practiced it for days before recording it.

I wish I were a better singer. I feel like that's the weakest part of this piece but, what-r-ya-gonna-do? I was on the short list for getting it done quickly so this is what I got.

Very nice! I can hear some Queensryche, Pink Floyd and even some Bad Finger influence there. I like the moodiness and different instrumental textures. And your voice? C'mon, you have a great voice.

Nice! And that's listening through crappy laptop speakers (off visiting this week). I also hear Floyd and of course Beatles with the backups. No need to apologize for the somberness of the song, it is what it is. I find it notable that people will often rag about a 4 minute melancholy song and then rave about a four hour epically depressing movie.

Great production job. Pro Tools?

Thanks guys.

Yes, Pro Tools. I still need to master it. That was straight off the DAW. I'm still listening to it on different systems to see how it translates. I still may need to tweak it just a bit.

I realized that I never posted the mastered version of this song. I finished it years ago.
