Anyone compare the standard '51 Nocaster U neck to the 65 C shape available on some of them? Any comments on the impact on tone/feel/playability?

I have a Nocaster. I've played the first '65's, a nice chunky C but nothing close in girth to the Nocaster. The Hot Rod '62 had a similar chunky C carve, felt great to me, but not the size of the Nocaster.
I believe a big neck sounds better than a small one, provided the wood is of equal quality.
Playability is very personal but overly small necks can cause hand cramping, and an overly big neck can be tough to negotiate. But I believe, with practice, most huge necks can be negotiated.
I met my match though, I had an enormous neck put on a strat, and it was just too big, I had a guy shave it down to Nocaster specs. I didn't notice any loss of tone, but then, I didn't record the old and new. But I was just not happy with the replacement neck, so I had no choice, really, after trying with it for a year or two.
I always say play the biggest neck you can actually play, but don't give up right away either. I met my match, but I can play my Nocaster all day and night, and that neck is huge.

I had a Nocaster and the neck is huge on them compared to what most of us are familiar with. I sold the guitar after a couple years because it really didn't speak to me, lovely as it was.
