Shane of InTheBlues interviewed Jerry of Jerry's Lefty Guitars. Interesting story.

He's also posted a couple of review of guitars that he played while at Jerry's, with many more to come.

Check it out.

I am going to be in the Sarasota area in a few weeks, and am planning on checking out his store.

LHW, that will be cool - what an awesome opportunity!

I've been to Southpaws in Houston twice (last time was over 15 years ago...). It's a blast, but also very frustrating, cuz you never have enough money to bring home even a few of the guitars that you fall in love with!

My friend I will be visiting in Florida has already done a "drive by" so we know exactly where he is located.
Jerry mentions in the interview he bought 30 PRS lefties when they were making a production run. He sold them all, as I understand.

Sounds like it based on that video. I'd pass on a PRS, though - there's lots of more interesting guitars out there. Depending on what you already have, I'd rather have a good MIJ Gretsch or a Duesenberg...

Edited for the spelling of "Duesenberg" - I knew that looked wrong...

I think Jerry has at least two, maybe three PRS' left. I've seen and played a Dusenberg at another shop. It's a wonderful guitar. However, right now I have no desire for another electric.

At the end of the taping, Jerry said you'd be ruined once you visited his shop. I was ruined in May, 2013 and that was after I purchased my Collings 290 and Huss & Dalton OM Custom from him.

Having visited both shops, it's my opinion that between Jimmy @ Southpaw and Jerry, a lefty can find just about anything that's available.

Agreed. At least for new stuff, and like Jerry said; used/vintage lefties are rare, and probably a crap shoot (for quality and price) if you can locate one. That's why the lefty Yamaha 335 copy I found back in December is so special (I got very lucky).
