FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Jaguars & Jazzmasters / Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Bridge Replacement

United States/Texas

I want to replace the bridge on my VM Jazzmaster Special. The stock bridge is a Danelectro U3 adjustable bridge (clone). I do not like that the intonation adj. screws on the saddles sit directly underneath the strings; which means loosen the string, adj. saddle pos., and then re-tune. I would like to install a Stratocaster hard-tail, top-loading bridge. But these bridges come in many different spacing sizes and I'm not sure which size to get.

Any recommendations on the correct spacing/size, or a more suitable bridge? Thanks in advance.
