Maybe his being gone is why I got to wander around the custom shop and play touchy-feeling with completed guitars on my last visit. Something I was never allowed to do in the past. A tour group was also posing for pics with some CS models.

I knew Mike a little bit from the early days of the FDP and Fender's relationship and had a chance to hang out at the CS a few times back then. I was there to pick between a few bodies for my '56 Strat and show him the sunburst finish I wanted. The CS plate on the back says FDP001.

He was occasionally cranky on the FDP when Fender guys were posting here but I always enjoyed his participation.

It's a very different company than it was when the FDP started. They forgot about us as soon as they decided to start their own in house forum. Something they said they'd never do. ;o)
