This is still looking like a possibility for me, if it's open to a NYer. Hey, that's only one state away, if you don't count Canada!

FISH DINNER & PRE-JAM JAM IS THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2014.

AmyNasir and I should be there in time for dinner (From the website: "Every Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm we serve the best Fish and Chips in Metro Detroit").

We'll have (at minimum) a bass & a guitar on hand, small amps, small monitor, and a notebook.

Plan is to have dinner, discuss the Saturday, June 28 Jam, decide ahead-of-time on a few tunes to bone-up on, and play some music.

See you'all this Friday.

Robert - what time do you plan to get there?

(No clams at the fish fry.)

Good question.

I've been thinking 7:00 p.m. at the latest, in order to take advantage of dinner (fish fry runs until 8:00).

Depending on how the remainder of the work week goes (for both Amy and I), may be earlier.

Since Jeff can't make the pre-jam, I'm reconsidering whether to bring a full drum kit. Maybe just an simple kit, bass/snare/small-tom/HH/crash.

Anyone have any other drummers showing up on Friday night?

Any recs for decent reasonable-budget accommodations in the area? I can make it up there on the day, but would obviously need to stay overnight since it's a night event.

Friday was great fun.

Dinner, drinks, planning, rock & roll, an acoustic set, all wrapped up before midnight.

Saturday will be even more fun.

There's another event scheduled until 7:00 p.m. on the 28th; I plan to arrive by 7:30 p.m. I'll be bringing the same gear as Friday: guitar & amp, bass & amp, a couple mics & stands, two small monitors. I'll also be bringing a sub-mixer (we'll use the house PA, which has new improved mains since the last jam), and a keyboard (plain midi into an iPad). Drums are To Be Announced; likely either Jeff or I will bring them.

If you'd like to be included in the current e-mail thread (with song ideas for Saturday & other notes), just drop me a line (link is at the left).

Looking forward to rocking out again with ya'all on Saturday.

Packed up & ready to go! Guitar, bass, keys, mics, amps & little bitty monitors. If there was anything you wanted me to bring along, either I've already packed it, or it's too late!

See ya' around 7:30.

So, although lightly attended, the June 28 BritJam was a success.

Enough so, that the Club wants us to return for a regular engagement.

We'll be meeting up at the Club this Friday to discuss dates, logistics, hardware, tunes. E-mail me if you want to be added to the current distribution.

As for June 28th, lots of highlights; my personal favorites included AmyNasir and Pete's acoustic performances, and the surprise we sprung on Pamster, "Double Shot (Of My Baby's Love)" by The Swingin' Medallions, and Bopper joining Trebor (AmyNasir, RAC-Strat and I) for our old original tune, "Be Mine (She Said No)". Plenty of trainwrecks too, but it was all good fun, and everyone had moments where they shone.

Looking forward to doing it again. (FYI, besides meeting, we'll be bringing acoustic guitars along this Friday night, if you want to acoustic jam!)
