I have got a very nice Fender Masterbuilt 50's (1999/2000) Stratocaster by Shishkov in 2004.
Certificate of authenticity says serial number YS0401 and is signed by Yurij, back of the headstock there is the Custom Shop Logo with the number YS0401 and Yurijs (old) sign, but Neckplate number is R6263.
Its all original, mailed with Yurij in 2004. Have also some pictures from Yurijs work with exactly this guitar on his workbench, same body, same neck. But i have forgotten to ask him about the serials, now don't have his new mail adress...
Does one of you know, why there is a second different serial number on the neckplate (R6263)? I hope, you can help me, there seem to be a lot of experts in this forum...

Someone else will probably chime in, but here's one thought.

Some CS instruments did / could have two serial numbers. One would have been for the builder / instrument run & the other could have been a more proper Fender number.

If doesn't satisfy your curiosity, call Fender. They can help.
