I'm thinking of getting back to drums after a million year layoff. Jazz would be my preference in this lifetime, so I'm thinking small and lightweight. The Pearl Traveler kit has been discussed here, but I'm liking the Taye (tie) Gokit. More money and maybe not as portable, but I like two heads vs one. Sounded good on youtube demo. Anyone had a chance to try them?

Thanks, Bluesbeat, but I've decided to go with the Taye Gokit. I tried them at a drum shop in Port St. Lucie. They really produce a surprisingly good sound. The kick is not as robust sounding as the snare/toms, but useable nonetheless. Might try different heads.

The Gokit really a much more compact kit than even the Catalinas. All the drums and hardware can fit in the three bags they make for it. And the weight is proportionately less too. That's a consideration for me, as I'm not a kid any more.
