this is the 28" scale jaguar from a few years ago.

Just wondering if anyone here has one .

There was some discussion when they came out but I was wondering what has happened to them all ?

Rarer than hen's teeth here.

The MIJ stuff doesn't have a wide audience outside the few rabid fans online.

I never even saw one offered.

Assuming nobody's messed with the wiring, up towards the pickups is "on", for the strangle switch to the pickups. Upper bout switch is up for rhythm circuit, down for 'use the lower circuit.'

Seems like a lot but it follows a half-sane convention.

I bought one of these Jaguar Baritones a few years ago. An online retailer in Arizona said he'd bought up the remaining Fender stock at the time and he was selling them off on eBay. I think I paid around $650 at the time. I bought a proper case from Albert Molinaro for another $180 or so. I was hoping I would bond with the guitar because it is such a beauty, but the standard bass tuning just wasn't right for me and I ultimately sold the package on eBay for just under a grand.

Now if it was a proper Baritone guitar, I would have kept it for sure.

Heh, guess that's why they make baritones and the octave down stuff.

I can't relate to baritone guitars well, kept wanting..more.

But the VI and I just got along famously.

I like the VI, too, mostly for its vintage vibe. I just have a problem with Fender (or anyone else for that matter) calling a six string bass a Baritone guitar, which it is NOT.

It's arrived

Nice fit,finish and feel.

Some electrical issues to sort, vol and tone pots only work when on maximum.

And need to have a look at the bridge and action.

Spending some time with this, sorted most things.

Nice guitar, currently trying B-B tuning.

Might give E-E a shot
The 28" scale makes for lots of finger room up the dusty end of neck :)
