I got a M77t (and a T400) during the blowout all those years ago. The T400 is fine, but the bridge tone in the M77 has always bothered me. Too bright, too tight. It is much, much closer to the bridge than any of my other guitars. It can sound somewhat like a wah cocked forward. I went so far as changing the pup to a TV Jones Magnatron, but, though it made an improvement, the harshness is still there, so I can't blame the 2K. As the scale length is correct from the bridge to the nut, I'm convinced that the bridge pup should be placed at least
1/4" forward. That mod would require a bit of routing and cutting a new pup shim to cover the gap created, as well as a slight forward cut to the pickguard to accomodate the changed position of the pickup.

Any opinions on this, if anyone is out there who has or had one?
