Very interesting. Check out this page from the JV Chronicles site about serial numbers.Scroll down to just below the neck plates and you will see that your serial number is specifically mentioned!

I'm not sure on the numbering, but from what I recall I think that the three bolt JVs were the second series of JVs, in between the 4 bolts and the "SQ" serials. So it's likely not the 2nd ever, but may be the 2nd after the change to the 3 bolt necks.

Fenderleadaholic, drop Rockape here at the FDP a PM, he is involved with 21frets.

What KC said about the timing of the three bolts is right, they are essentially SQ series strats with JV serials. But as far as I'm aware they didn't start re-numbering from the three bolts so I don't know how yours got 00002.

Pics would be good.

I have a black one of those with a maple neck. A white one with a rosewood neck would go very nicely alongside it.

What you have looks like an SQ series strat; big headstock, bullet truss rod, 11-hole pickguard with the middle bass side screw in the "62" position; the pickups and electrics will be Japanese and the trem block will be alloy.

Could you take a pic of the tuners?

It should be 7.25". If you don't have radius gauges you can print out onto card from a .pdf at Pickguardian at the link below.

Have you had the pickguard off to look at the electrics, pickup routes etc? Sometimes there may be neck end dates and neck pocket marking too, but mine only has a pencil tick in the neck pocket.
