too many guitars and not enough hands

Shame I'm at work ;(

D'Angelico EXL1 Lefty in Sunburst (would of liked natural) but this sunburst is sure sweet, and finish looks flawless

I have pulled it out and played it for 5 mins

(well I'm the boss) who's gunna stop me

and initial impressions 5 mins total

very well made rings good acoustically, lot of projection a mellow roundness to the tone very even volume across the all strings and the neck

didn't hear any dead spots

little stiff in the action but the strings feel like 11's I'm used to 10, setup out the box not to bad - they did a partial setup at the shop before it was shipped

but I know with the climate in my area it'll need adjusting I set up all my guitars because 'm pretty particular about what I like

frets look good seriously good, necks comfortable was comfortable in most positions haven't been all over the neck but up to 12 fret felt fine, and not to thick, playing std and jazz chords (well my interpretation of jazz chords)

don't know how the pups sounds no amp at work but if its sounds this good acoustically im pretty confident that through a nice amp it'll sound great

only 6hrs to go before I get home

Peegoo

Will gets some pics shortly

plugged it in to my DRRI Yesterday and boy did she sound sweet,

and the neck on its a killer, looking at it I reckon they come out of the same Korean factory as epiphone Sheratons, its a well made guitar and worth the money,

frets are flawless plays great up the whole neck admittedly I didn't head past the twelfth fret, much.

very full rounded tone, but punchy when I dug in a little.

The Kent Armstrong pup is nice haven't seen its full potential yet ( see below)

Only one issue the tone control is wired ass about its either full on or off, easy fix just need to get the soldering iron out,

Volume is wired right got full range,

LeftRightOut,

Sounds like a beauty! I'm jealous!

Your tone control problem is a common one on left-handed guitars. I suspect it is a "right-handed" pot that has been wired to operate left-handed. When builders do this (and I don't know why they do), the taper of the pot is backwards, and it essentially operates like an on/off switch.

The solution is to either have the pots wired so they work "right-handed," or replace the pots with left-handed pots if you want them to work correctly "left-handed."

Rev,

You could even say i'm pretty jazzed about it,

Yeah the lefty pot and you're right how hard is it to get some lefty pots put in to your guitars?

In saying that my Fender Custom Shop strat came with righty pots ( that was just poor on there part esp for a high end custom guitar)

the price we pay for being left handed

I've replaced all the pots on my other guitars with lefty taper pots

This one though I'll just have to change the wiring as I cant seem to find any mini pots with a lefty taper, a std pot wont fit under the pickguard where they're mounted

I've said this often here before, but I actually prefer right-handed pots, both for the availability and for the variety you can find if needed. I've never seen a lefty taper pot with a push-pull switch built onto it, for instance.

So I've got all my project guitars - and most of my name brand guitars - wired for right-handed use (and most knobs match this anyway). The only exception is my Larrivee electrics, which all have lefty taper pots, AND knobs that have the numbers "lefty" to match how the pot works!

The trick is switching back and forth from those three guitars to the others...takes a couple turns of the knob to 'rewire' my brain!
