I just bought a Classic Vibe Tele Custom. The pickups sound really good with lots of punch and snap. I was very surprised. I expected them to sound O.K and change out later. But they sound great. Amazing what you can buy from China these days.

And the finish is also great. $399. Hard to beat that.

Check out this video I found on youtube. Before and after the pickups get swapped out but to be honest I find the stock pups sound better. You'll hear the original pups sound deeper. More classic twang IMO.

Nice.

When I needed a Telecaster upgrade last year, I budgetted $1,250, and hit a dozen music stores in Southeast Michigan, trying the American Standard, the Mexi's, used AVRI 52's, and couldn't find a single one with a good fretboard and well-matched pickups (with the fretboard being the far more common weakness).

Due to "interesting" seasons and very dry winters, fret sprout in Michigan is pretty common, and most were afflicted to a greater or lesser degree.

I was almost disppointed that the ultimate winner, the guitar with the best feel and the sweetest sound, was a Squire, at 1/3rd my budget. Specifically, the Custom, in 3 color sunburst.

But I've gotten over the disappointment.

Sweet plank.

(Since my Les Paul's a Studio model, I do sometimes feel topsy-turvy ... my Tele's got binding, but my 'Paul doesn't!)

The guitar really resonates when unplugged and I really like the feel of the neck too.

Speaking of binding there was a time when I didn't like a bound Tele. It just didn't look right to me. I was so used to the look of a plain plank Tele. Funny how one's taste can change.

On a 1250.00 budget, I'm more disappointed you only bought one.

It's tempting not to buy a 6 pack of these Tele's at this price.

Does anybody out there know if the top and back of these guitars are 2 piece veneer? Or are they actually just 2 pieces of wood. Highly doubtful at $399. They are only joined in the middle. Rather pretty indeed.
