Galt's Gulch is where I'd rather stay...

All of my fellow Southeast Michigan FDPJammers are welcome and encouraged to stop by Miles Handy Park in Redford on Saturday the 29th for music and food!

We've got the pavilion reserved, and plan to eat and play tunes until 9:00 p.m.

I'll be putting together a schedule of bands, and there should be plenty of time for open jamming as well.

The parks & rec commision has even generously approved a noise waiver from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., so there will be a PA system! We'll keep the volumes reasonable so as to not make the children at the splash pad next to the pavilion cry too much.

Yes, the 4-8 slot will include sets by Trebor and Ron Tool & The Capitalists!

Join us at Capital Park (that is, the newly renamed Miles Handy Park!) in Redford Township for the First Annual Rock and Roll Picnic 2013. E-mail Robert for an invitation and details.

Looking forward to music and food in quantity!

Q & A:

Q: Should I bring any food?
A: Only if there's something you particularly want to have on hand, or share. Otherwise, nah, an NSA grant has insured that there'll be food for all.

Q: Do I need to bring an amp? A bass amp? Drums?
A: No, not if you don't want to; we'll have the basics on hand. (Also, if you need it LOUD to get "your tone", probably better without. This is a public park.) Heck, you can play one of my guitars if you don't even care to bring an axe. There will be a small bass amp (which will also line-out to the PA & subwoofers), and a drum kit.

Q: BYOB? Does the park allow alcohol?
A: No, alcohol's not permitted at Miles Handy Park. If you require ethonol courage, you'll need to arrange proper medication and safe transportation ahead of time ... or plan to attend the exclusive after-party.

Q: Is there a cost to attend? Parking fees?
A: The only price of attendence is your smiling face. Nada dinero required.
