Hello,

I picked up a new Strat that is an October 2012 build. The spec sheet lists all 3 PUs as Abby hand wound. The bridge being a Fat '60s, the middle a Fat '50s and the neck a '69. I've had a few guitars with Abby PUs in the past. I pulled the guard off to take a peak and this is what I found. I bought it new and confirmed the specs with customer support. So what's up with the grey bobbin ('69) PU signature?

Thanks,

Todd

My custom deluxe had two 69s neck and rwrp middle and a Txs special in the bridge. Not hand wound but supervised. ON her hand wound should be signature like the black bottoms, the grey is right for a 69, not sure about the initials, mine had AY on all three as she supervised or wound, but no telling which.

Thanks .... Yeah it sounds good. I do however care who wound them because Abby handwounds are an up charge (that I paid for). I called Fender and they said handwound Abby PUs (as did the dealer). The Abby sigs have her name on them (not the AY). I have been lucky to have a number of CS guitars with handwounds. I've just never seen ones with the initials like my '69 PUs have.

JC is most likely Josefina Campos, Abby's apprentice.
