New drun set day. I got my tax refund today and decided to stimulate the economy a little bit.

I bought a brand new Gretsch Renown '57 5 pc kit in Motor City Black. I did an Amazon purchase using the FDP link. The kit was brand new and offered at $1089. These sold for $1957 when they were first released. List is over $3K. It was the last one I found at this price.

It should be delivered to my office by the end of next week. Time to list my Pear Visions on CL.

The Renown series are great drums, I had a set would have never got rid of them but a good freind that was needing a kit made a fair offer so I took him up on it.

Totally bummeds. I got an email from Amazon. My order has been cancelled as the item is out of stock! No new Gretschs for me.

Still shopping however.
