I knew the Clipper was in the Pacific on that day, but I had no idea how they got her home.

Cool story. Sikorsky made some flying boats that Pan Am flew. The S-42 & the S-43. They weren't as large as the Boeing aircraft. So what was their secret mission. Yeah, I know, I know, it's a secret. Does anybody know?

There were more bombs dropped on Darwin than on Pearl Harbour in WW2.

So they go home via Darwin???
