Hi, I have a Yuriy S. built 54 Strat 50th annv model. It is my fav guitar out of all. I had not played it for a while due to family obligations. So I took it to my local luthier (who is a well known expert and has work sent to him from around the world) to have new strings put on and a tuneup done. He called to say that when he went to adjust the truss rod, the the truss rod anchor let loose. He says he can repair it. I'm heartbroken, it is the best guitar I have owned. Now it's broke. Should I let him repair it or try to get another neck? Thanks

Contact Fender Customer Services if you are the original owner, before you do anything. I also have a Yuri 54... superb instrument

Definitely dig out that receipt and talk to Fender Custom Shop first. These guitars have lifetime warranties.

Did you contact the Custom Shop?
What did you decide after all?

Welllll...his luthier was adjusting the rod when it broke, which might void the warranty. In fact, if he's not an authorized Fender repair guy, I'm sure it legally does. That doesn't mean Fender won't honor it, they just might, especially since you laid down big coin for that. Good luck.

Another thing to consider...if your luthier is that good, maybe it's worth not using your warranty. Yes, it'll cost more, but the work will be right (if he's that good).
