I purchased a Custom Shop Stratocaster last week. Serial number is R44669. Is there a way to determine the reissue year by a pic or serial number? If a pic is needed, please let me know how to upload it to this thread. Thanks for any help.

Go into your FDP profile and click the "add photo" button.

This gets you to the "choose file" button. Click that and find the photo just the way you find it on your own computer. In Windows double-click the photo and the name of it on your computer will appear in the file name window.

Add a "photo title", which can be anything (e.g. My new guitar), and hit the "upload file" button. Your file will then appear on your list of photos.

Call Fender customer relations and I think that they can tell you from the serial number. Many Fenders have a neck stamp date, but I don't think this applies to CS guitars.

What about the pots? They might at least give you a year if you don't have the COA....

I have serial number R44685... seeing as it's only 16 from your number they may be built around the same time. My COA is dated 12/12/08. I have a buddy with a serial number close to mine and these strats are "sisters" that look and most importantly play identical. They are very special guitars!

Your strat isn't by chance a 1960 heavy relic in Dakota Red? I heard they only made 100 of these in this color. Interested to know if you are lucky to have one of these.
