Reviving another dead thread (while we're at it today!)...

Love the Goldtop...have always wanted one. But like you, can't afford or justify it at the moment.

I'll stick with my Epi LP Custom Pro with Probuckers. It sounds like an LP is supposed to sound.

Lefty Epi's are fine guitars i like my sheraton even though i dont play it as much as i should

i've also got a 70's era Lawsuit Ibanez Les Paul that i haven't played in about 10 years lying under a bed

it need some TLC though a refret new tuners one of them is broke the other seized , some new pups not fused on the ones in there

i might get around to doing something about it this year

LeftRightOut,

I remember some years ago (before the internet..) when Southpaw Guitars in Houston had a lefty Ibanez lawsuit in their catalog; of course, by the time I called them, it was gone! Always loved old Ibanez guitars!

I have a lefty Ibanez dreadnaught acoustic that I bought in '78 or '79 when I was in college. All laminate, but still a well made, made in Japan guitar, and it actually sounds pretty decent (even laminate tops 'open up' after 30 years!). It also needs a refret because it's been played for over 30 years...thinking about having that done soon, while I can still enjoy it.

It's the one guitar I keep for sentimental reasons, because it was my first true lefty, and I'm so used to it.

Okay,

I'll keep hijacking...

Most people would think I'm crazy to spend (most likely) @ $200 for a refret on a 30 year old all laminate Japanese guitar, but it has lots of sentimental value from years of learning songs on it and using it for what little bit of gigging I did...

...plus, now my oldest daughter lives in Japan, so both this Ibanez and my lefty Epi Elitist LP (also made in Japan) have some extra sentimental value to me (plus the LP is really a great guitar).

Hope to get the refret scheduled in the next month or so - gotta make the last payment on my daughter's spring sememster of college this month first! Ouch!!!
