I just got back from a road trip to Mississippi where one of my aunts was laid to rest. I spent a couple of days with my cousin and was surprised to find out that her 20 yo daughter is a left-handed guitar player.

Alexis has a no name Chinese copy of a Strat and a Randell amp that she's borrowed from her boyfriend's brother. You should have seen the sparkle in her eyes when she was playing my Huss & Dalton OM.

I'm going to have to do something about getting her a proper Fender Strat and a small tube amp.

I hope that her parents & teachers let her be a natural lefty. Being a 'converted southpaw' really sucks at times.

I've decided to ship my Seagull S6+ Folk over to Alexis. It was my first left-handed acoustic and currently, is seldom used. This kills two birds with one stone. Alexis gets a quality acoustic and the Seagull gets played more often that it does now.

I'm headed over to New Orleans for a long weekend and a mini jam with Alexis.

Well, I've opened a can of worms. I had to go back to New Orleans last week as another aunt was laid to rest, the second one in three months.

Anyways, on Wednesday after the services, Alexis & I jammed a bit as I had my J-45 RW with me. On Thursday, her father and I visited some on the shops in Algiers. He bought himself a guitar, a vintage Ibanez. He had been a drummer before confined to a wheelchair.

Later Thursday evening, her mother confessed that she had a desire to buy and learn how to play a lap steel.

I hope that as a family, I'm not blamed for any of their future GAS.
