Same here, although I like the orange. That and the offset special are the only guitars in the Fender line that aren't called tele that appeal to me. I dig the Mosrite-ish styling of the SS.

Looks like they're selling for about eight bills...of course I'd have to factor in some new humbuckers since Fender's have always left me flat. All in all this year's pawn shop line is a huge step up compared to the first one IMO.

A local store has the new Super-Sonic in gun metal flake. To me, it looked more purple than gray. Anyone else see one of these?

They're also getting in a sonic blue Jaguarillo, so will be interesting to compare them.

Finally got to try them out! Both felt good and sounded good, but I definitely preferred the Super Sonic.

The SS, for having such a strange shape, felt very comfortable both sitting and standing. The neck felt very good. The reverse wired volume controls and selector switch might take some getting used to, but overall I was impressed.
