Anyone familiar with the Gretsch G3140? I think it was part of the Electromatic series at one point.

There's a used G3140 for sale locally, thus my interest.

Since I rarely use trem bars, the fact that this model doesn't have a Bigsby is a plus.

They are part of the Synchromatic series if i recall. never played one. i guess the question is "what sound you're after?". I figure it's the same price range as a 5120. i like that option as something to upgrade on. but i NEED a Bigsby on it :)...

i have a 6120 DSW, it's got dynasonic pups. still debating if i should get TV J's classics (Filtertrons) or get a 5120 to mod. hmmmmm...

Thanks, I guess I should give it a demo. I'm after that rockabilly twang sound.

"I'm after that rockabilly twang sound."

then it might fit the bill, as it has Dynasonic pick ups, that's what the old rockabilly guys used. Like Cliff Gallup.

Slap back echo helps too ;)
