Playing Herbie Hancock's "Chamelion" with the late great Seth Rosen at a Cleveland jam. Seth played a mando with an envelop filter effect while I tried to channel Jeff Beck.

Three left handed Les Paul's on the same stage playing the same song at the same time in Xenia a few years ago.

Dave, that reminds me that you and I talked a Long time about Tommy Bolin and the "Stratus" album - and couldn't come up with that artists' name... I was just thinking about that a couple weeks ago and it *Still* took me a couple hours to realize it's Billy Cobham. ;-)

"Three left handed Les Paul's on the same stage..."

What are the mathematical (im)probabilities of this anyway?

Lessee ...

If we assume a total of 20 guitar players at the jam, 3 being lefties, and we treat each trial as a binomial event, outcomes being leftie/rightie, and we make three blind picks to determine who goes on stage, I come up with probability of 3 lefties at around a tenth of a percent.

That seems too low, though. I may be remembering the wrong math.

Well, the fact that we were all onstage at the same time was not random. ;o)

"Well, the fact that we were all onstage at the same time " It was thisismike who looked behind him and saw 10 guitar players (give or take a few) and said, "I think I'm in a southern rock band."

Freebird finale at Jumbo Jimmy's had to be 190 db's. I was playing through a TRRI on 8 with a TS9 engaged. I couldn't hear myself.

Not that these are bad things. 8^)

A Dancing / Hopping Peegoo, and when he maliciously, recklessly, and dangerously attempted to knock me over (unprovoked, mind you), as I attempted a solo.
The NERVE of some people!

I've been to three FDP jams over the past few years.

I have met and enjoyed playing with many of the Texas regulars here on the FDP, and have become pretty good friends with some of them.

Over the years there have been so many moments that were jaw-dropping, and more more "good times" (quoting deepend) than I can count. Rather than attempt trying to capture that one great moment, I'll just defer to Puddles....

Dogs can jam too!
