Also blowing out ebony SG Standards for $799 (cherry ones are $899). I'm so glad I bought a used SG and didn't pay $1,200 6 months ago when I bought mine...

...also, mine's a 2009 - with a ROSEWOOD board; do these have baked maple? Not that it's bad, but they seem to be reducing prices on the baked maple stuff and returning back to rosewood...

Black SG Standard for $799

I'm sooooo happy with my Epi LP. I can't imagine a Gibson being any better.

LM,

Yeah, my Epiphone Elitist LP is an amazing guitar; hope I never *have* to sell it.

I just picked up the cherry SG Standard, as a sibling to my cherry SG Standard with P-90s.

I see the Silverburst Firebird is more expensive (reg price at MF) in most of the blowouts - which suggests which one was most popular. An exception - for righties - is Sam Ash, which has all of the Firebird colors at $599. I was thinking of picking up a righty Silverburst for righty visitors.

I repainted the back of my Silverburst Firebird. Amazing that I can hand shoot, Nitro Cellulose better than the factory automated machines. I also replaced all the silver mica caps with John E Fast hand built .022uf PIO caps....what a difference in overall tones over the factory
2 cent caps.
IMO.... on the SGs, is to stick with the standards can't go wrong there.
The upper end Epis are some of the better ones from offshore.

All of you guys enjoy the holidays... hope Santa brings some good stuff for you.

Bringing my daughter and her husband home from Japan for the holidays - that's all I want (and can afford!). Haven't seen them in person for 18 months...it will be a good Christmas!

Sorry, off topic. ;^)
